9 Spring Break Destinations For A Girl’s Trip

For those who have worked their tails off all semester, get ready to treat yourself with some much needed time off for spring break. While I personally have gone on Spring Break to Egypt and was scheduled to go to Spring Break to Costa Rica in March 2020 (which for reasons you can probably imagine, never happened), if I had another one to embark on, I’d grab my favorite gal pals and head to any of these destinations.

1. Dallas, Texas

For those based out of the USA looking for something close to home, Dallas, Texas should be at the top of your list for a fun girl’s trip. While Dallas has plenty of incredible things to do, the reason it makes for a great spring break trip with the girls is because of margarita mile! Margarita Mile is a self-guided margarita-sipping tour, and honors Dallas as being home to the original frozen margarita. I recently was lucky enough to go on Margarita Mile, and my favorite spots were Jose for the “squozen” margarita, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine for the “prickly pear marg,” Terry Black’s BBQ for the signature black margarita, and Tejas for their frozen paloma. Really, you can’t go wrong in choosing. Download the app and make sure to check in when you go to each place!

Aside from Margarita Mile, Dallas is culturally rich, full of Instagrammable spots, and even has the largest public display of tulips outside of The Netherlands at Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens‘s Dallas Bloom. Safe to say, Dallas has a little bit for everyone.

2. Barcelona, Spain

Jumping over to Europe might seem extreme for just a short week, but the time of the flight is easily made up with the time-zone difference. For a fun girl’s getaway, fewer European cities are better than Barcelona, Spain. Barcelona was one of the first cities I visited in Europe, and after having seen the majority of big cities in Western Europe, Barcelona still ranks toward the top. It is probably my favorite city to eat in, and the reason I’d recommend it is as a girl’s trip is so you can all have the delight of sharing tapas. Most meals in Barcelona (and Spain, in general) are small plates best for sharing, so grab your favorite foodie friends and head to Barcelona for some shareable bites (and lots of sangria).

Food aside, if there’s one tourist attraction you cannot miss, it’s Sagrada Familia.

3. Jamaica

Jamaica is a short jaunt from mainland USA with direct flights from many major cities. There are even direct flights from London a few times a week on British Airways, so getting to Jamaica is a fairly easy feat for spring breakers. There’s a reason this Caribbean island is amongst one of the most popular: it is the definition of paradise, and for groups of gals who want a slice of heaven without the interruption of kiddos or families, head to Bahia Principe Luxury Runaway Bay, an exclusive adults-only resort. Enjoy a swim-up bar without getting splashed in the face (by a child, at least), and if/when that hangover from too many pool margaritas kicks in, order room service from your private butler. The best part about Bahia Principe Luxury Runaway Bay is that it’s all inclusive, so whatever you pay when you book, with the exception of outer excursions and tips, is going to be a rough estimate of what you’ll pay in total.

4. New York City

Not quite busy season and not quite low season, March is a perfect time to visit New York City. With a city as chaotically busy as New York, it’s best to show up with a support system to navigate those crazy Big Apple streets. So much can be done in just a few days in New York City. Head to a cozy cocktail bar, sip some of the city’s best margaritas, eat some of the best bites in the country, and see iconic attractions like the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, and the 9/11 Memorial (harrowing, but a must). Of course, you must see the Statue of Liberty, which is best done by a boat tour.

5. Orlando, Florida

Long gone are the days of misconception where Orlando is only a kid-friendly destination. Skip overcrowded party-centric Miami, and head to Orlando instead. While Orlando is bound to be pretty busy on spring break, it’s the choice selection for many families, so if you keep it to luxurious and adult-friendly experiences, you have a chance at beating the crowds of kiddos. If you’re looking to really treat yourself, there’s only one hotel you should even be considering; Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World. Four Seasons Orlando is located within Disney property, so you’ll still get that nostalgic feel (you can even watch Magic Kingdom and Epcot fireworks from the hotel’s rooftop every night), but you’ll also have the luxurious experience of having access to the only adults-only pool on Disney property. There are many reasons this hotel is worth the splurge, but above all of the amenities offered, definitely don’t skip out on the spa. Another favorite of mine is taking advantage of poolside service while floating in the lazy river (best enjoyed with a spicy mezcalita in hand).

6. Saint Lucia

For those groups of gals who are looking for a little slice of romantic luxury, look no further than Saint Lucia. Saint Lucia is best known as a honeymoon destination, but why does it have to be? Grab your girlfriends and turn it into the luxurious trip you deserve instead. Rent a private villa from Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort to share with your friends, where your room will have a private pool. Definitely take advantage of on-site tour company Jammin’ Tours and head out on the island one day to properly explore the infamous Piton Mountains, natural sulfur springs and mud baths, and to get some snorkeling in. There are so many reasons to visit Saint Lucia, and in my opinion, sharing the experience with a great group of friends is the move.

7. South Korea

I visited Korea on a solo backpacking trip in 2019, and almost immediately upon arriving, I realized one thing: South Korea was going to be difficult as a solo traveler. Not difficult in that it’s unsafe or tough to get around, difficult as in, South Korea is an extremely social place, and being there alone made me feel like quite the outsider. Portions at restaurants are almost always family-style, and it’s not uncommon to see gaggles of friends together roaming the streets. While there, I decided if I was ever going to do a proper girl’s trip, it would have to be in South Korea. Since I have yet to have had the chance to do this, I highly encourage you and your friends to consider it for your spring break trip! Though the flight is far, South Korea is fairly small, and just a few days should allow you enough time to see Seoul, DMZ, and if you can squeeze it in, a few days in the magical Jeju Island.

8. Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic is the most visited Caribbean island. Why is that? Well, grab your closest girlies and find out for yourselves! Though I solo traveled to an all-inclusive to DR, I’d highly recommend going with a group to reap the benefits of sharing your experience. Dominican Republic is not only culturally enticing, but it’s naturally stunning. The beauty in Dominican Republic is that it can be either a relaxing, tropical oasis, or it can be an adventure like no other. Book a tour to go ATVing to get in touch with your adventurous side, or get the party started with a catamaran tour (where copious amounts of rum punch will be included). If you can, try to make time to visit Santo Domingo by taking a day tour to see the city’s highlights.

9. Las Vegas, Nevada

What party list would be complete without a shout-out to the party capital of the USA? Las Vegas is a great place to spend with a bunch of your best girlfriends for a spring break getaway. This hotspot is particularly great for those trying to get shots for the ‘gram. Data on the USA’s most picturesque (aka instagrammable) pools was just collected by BonusFinder, and 6 out of the top 10 are found in Las Vegas (these include the pools at The Mirage, Mandalay Bay, Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, Red Rock Casino, Circa Resort & Casino, and Wynn Las Vegas). Photo-worthy pools aside, Vegas is a great spot for guaranteed good weather, fun late nights out, epic brunches, and memories to be kept between you and your girlfriends, because after all, whatever happens in Vegas certainly should stay in Vegas.

A week can be long in party-centric Vegas, so if you need to get out to see some nature, luckily, there are easy day tours to The Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon & Horseshoe Bend, and Death Valley.
